Beenchen is the story of Sabine from Baden Baden, Germany. Her story starts on her birthdate, September 11, 1951 – 50 years to the day from 9/11, 2001. On her birthdate is when it was decided. Beenchen had to go live in the childcare home. Why? She had done nothing wrong.
Beenchen is raised in three place; at a childcare home, with the Sisters at the Cloister and on the weekends she got 24 hours at home with her mother. The two of them were alone. Her mom worked for the local radio news station.
This is Beenchen’s story and also the story of the women who cared for her, of having her own child at the age of 17 – her baby taken away and given up for adoption and how it all worked out because of love and family. It is a heartwarming tale of love. For the German audience there is a version translated by Kent Alkan. It will be re-released in 2021 for those who want a printed copy but also here, a chapter each week starting in February 2021 – available for a full download – for free.
