A note about El Capitan, what is based on real-life stories and what is the fiction?

Someone wrote in a critique of El Capitan that this is a collage of stories. I agree. I describe it as a story of stories. Each of the “stories” is told by a group of aging, former soccer / futbol pros that had their day in decades past and, who in their late 50s, some A note about El Capitan, what is based on real-life stories and what is the fiction?

JP and I started writing eNikita in 2012 and we finished it in 2013. It is already approaching a decade since we got it published. But time has not diminished its relevance. Sports became my way to belong. There were many coaches, teachers and teammates that were all a part of my childhood who helped me develop this choice. When we finished writing Security in a Web 2.0+ World and then received the text of the Forward from Dan Geer I remember reading it over and over again thinking what s brilliant piece he had written. “The reason is structural”, were his words. And one cannot win in a contest if the structure is “We are Many, They are Few. We are Losing. They are Winning. The Reason is Structural”
